Why We’re Walking — Walk for WEllness

Earlier this year we introduced Walk for WEllness, a Steps Challenge for employees to track their daily movement and engage in a little friendly competition for fun prizes. Many of the more than 750 participants to date are sharing the physical and mental health benefits they’ve been noticing since joining the challenge – like better sleep, a heightened sense of awareness and energy, and the motivation that comes from shared accomplishment and experience. And the motivation continues: In October alone, Wilbur-Ellis employees walked over 100 million steps! Check out some of the photos above that they took along the way.

In November and December, we’re adding another incentive – hunger-relief aid. For the third year in a row, Wilbur-Ellis and our employees are teaming up to raise money for organizations that fight hunger in the U.S., Canada, and Asia-Pacific. This time, Wilbur-Ellis will make a contribution for every mile walked by employees as part of the Walk for WEllness steps challenge. The benefitting charities are: Feeding America in the U.S., Action Against Hunger in Asia-Pacific, and Second Harvest of Canada.
