Production Manager

General Purpose and Scope of Position

The Production Manager will be responsible for day-to-day plant operations. As a key member of the Facilities Operations Group, this individual will be responsible for all staff operations to ensure the efficient and safe handling and receipt of all ingredients into the facility, the processing activities within the facility, and of the shipment of all finished product from the facility.

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include

  • Manage logistics of inbound product from suppliers
  • Oversee the receipt and shipment of all inbound/outbound products at the plant
  • Monitor and manage the safe and effective storage of all product at the plant and all outside third party storage locations associated with the locations inventory
  • Manage the day-to-day processes related to the production of outbound plant processed product
  • Manage the day-to-day processes required to ensure processing information mirrors JDE information
  • Manage a staff of production workers, maintenance workers and office workers
  • Oversee all equipment maintenance and capital needs for the facility
  • Be responsible for managing and updating all plant processes to meet requirements of the Wilbur- Ellis Regulatory Management System programs
  • Be responsible for managing and updating all plant Feed Quality and Safety process programs (HACCP plan, QA manual, plant procedures etc.) as outlined in the Wilbur- Ellis Quality Management system
  • Be responsible for all aspects of plant and employee safety as outlined in the Wilbur- Ellis Environmental, Health, and Safety Management System
  • Approve and monitor all plant production-related expenses
  • Oversee product sampling, testing, and testing results
