Dispatcher
General Purpose and Scope of Position
The Dispatcher will coordinate product shipments and transfers between branches and distribution center as well as assisting in all aspects of customer service including product selection, order processing and inventory management.

- Background with FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations preferred
- Ability to problem solve in an operationally efficient manner while in the midst of a fast-paced environment
Key Personal Attributes Include
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Positive attitude and a willingness to lead and learn
- Must possess good computer skills including knowledge of MS office
- Must possess good mathematical skills
- Strong customer service orientation required, including the ability to effectively respond to telephone calls and customer inquiries
- Must have strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple assignments
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include
- Build strong customer relationships and maintain communication with customers to provide excellent customer service and make sure expectations are being met
- Efficiently coordinate daily delivery routes to accommodate the needs of the customers and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day
- Communicate efficiently with pertinent office, purchasing, and sales staff as changes or issues arise and adjust delivery routes accordingly
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers to build a team atmosphere
- Conduct weekly driver safety meetings and coordinate fleet inspections and repairs
- Primary branch contact for FMCSA and DOT rules and regulations
- Maintain driver qualifications files in JJ Keller (training provided)
- Maintain records of vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs in Comply 2.0 (training provided)
- Support drivers with ELD questions and troubleshooting
- Work with operations manager and safety leader to develop and maintain an in-house on-boarding checklist for all drivers
- Work with operations manager and safety leader to ensure all training, equipment, and any other necessary onboarding is completed in an efficient manner for all drivers
- Coordinate driver vacation and appointment requests with both operations manager and office admin and give final approval
- Work closely with the warehouse manager and staff to ensure safe, legal, and efficient loading of trucks/trailers
- Utilize electronic routing software to optimize routes
- Coordinate product transfers in and out of the distribution hub and instruct company drivers on requirements of loads
- Assist with inventory tracking and control
- Complete bill of ladings and hazardous materials shipping papers
- Calculate total quantities of products by weight and/or volumetric measurements
- Coordinate fertilizer loads with Wilbur-Ellis fertilizer purchasing team & different loading facilities
