WILBUR-ELLIS’ CRAIG BAIR HONORED AT ANNUAL CONVENTION FOR SAFETY CONTRIBUTIONS TO AG AVIATION INDUSTRY

William O. Marsh Safety Award recognizes significant achievements in safety, safety education or an outstanding operational safety program

DENVER – January 13, 2015 – Craig Bair, National Aerial Safety and Agronomy Risk manager for Wilbur-Ellis Co., was awarded the 2014 William O. Marsh Safety Award at the National Agricultural Aviation Association (NAAA) convention in Louisville, Ky., on December 11, 2014, at the NAAA annual awards ceremony. NAAA’s William O. Marsh Safety Award recognizes significant achievements in safety, safety education or an outstanding operational safety program. Bair was recognized for his steadfast commitment and significant contributions to safety education within the agricultural aviation industry.

“As a third-generation aerial applicator, Craig takes his work very seriously,” said Jim Loar, vice president of Operations for Wilbur-Ellis’ Agribusiness Division. “We’re proud to see his work recognized and are certain his contributions will have a lasting impact on the industry and on Wilbur-Ellis.”

“Craig is both a perfectionist and an activist and he has brought those two key leadership qualities to our industry by serving as both a qualified expert in ag aircraft calibration and as a PAASS Presenter in our industry extolling safety curriculum to ensure the good health of ag pilots, the environment, and farmers’ crops treated via aerial application,” said Andrew Moore, NAAA executive director. “He’s the type of guy that won’t rest his efforts until the industry has an immaculate safety record. We’re lucky to have him in this industry.”

Bair is currently implementing a Safety Management System for Wilbur-Ellis’ aerial operations, and has assisted in the purchase of Wilbur-Ellis’ own pattern analysis equipment that will continue to improve the performance of the company’s agricultural aircraft fleet.

Bair has been an Operation Self-regulating Application and Flight Efficiency (S.A.F.E.) Analyst for more than 15 years.
