John P. Thacher Joined Wilbur-Ellis as Vice President – Strategic Planning and Business Development

Wilbur-Ellis announced that on January 1, 2002 John P. Thacher joined the Wilbur-Ellis Company as Vice President – Strategic Planning and Business Development. Founded in 1921 and with total sales exceeding $1.3 billion, Wilbur-Ellis Company specializes in the marketing, distribution and formulation of crop protection products, fertilizers and animal feed stuffs. Through its Connell Bros. Company and Animal Feed divisions, Wilbur-Ellis also exports industrial chemicals, minerals and fibers and certain animal feed stuffs throughout the Pacific Rim for numerous major U.S. companies. With the rapid consolidation throughout the industry (both agricultural and industrial) over the last few years, the distributor’s role is changing. This new position will allow Wilbur-Ellis to develop and analyze new business opportunities while it continues to grow as a predominant distributor in the industry. 
 
John brings with him an outstanding background, having been with Cuvaison Winery in the California Napa Valley for 25 years and most recently serving as its President. Furthermore, John has been a member of the Wilbur-Ellis Company Board of Directors as well as the Executive Committee for many years.
