OREGON AGRICULTURE IN THE CLASSROOM FOUNDATION DONATION

|

The Oregon Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation (Oregon AITC) received a $5,000 grant from Wilbur-Ellis to continue the growth and expansion of its lending library. Oregon AITC’s “Free Loan Library” has been a key resource of the program since its inception. Last year alone, 1,269 teachers utilized resources from the lending library, impacting 34,888 students in Oregon. As many of the resources in the library are dated, the funds from the grant will be applied toward the purchase of several agricultural science-based kits to excite and engage students in the classroom. Oregon AITC plants the seeds of awareness by teaching students and their teachers about agriculture’s impact on their daily lives. With the financial support from Wilbur-Ellis, it will be able to impact even more students and help them gain a better understanding of agriculture and natural resources.
